Delayed flights!

Waiting for two ours at the airport, my parents should be arriving today. Their flight has been delayed. What got my attention is the parking charges i'll be paying for something i had nothing to do with. Is the delayed flight my or my parent's fault? Then why are we the ones paying for it, not only with time, but with cash too.
